- Musician and cultural historian: currently studying for a PhD at Liverpool Hope University. Title of proposal: Liverpool Stadium: Investigating a Hidden Chapter of Liverpool’s Musical Past.

- 2006: Awarded M.Phil by Liverpool John Moores University. Title of thesis: Hard Wired for Heroes: A Study of Punk Fanzines, Fandom, and the Historical Antecedents of the Punk Movement.
- 2004- 2007: part time and guest lecturer in Art History at Runshaw College, near Chorley, Wigan and Leigh College and St.Helens College.
- 2000-2004: part time lecturer and module leader in Art History at Liverpool John Moores University.
- 2000: Awarded BA (Hons) 1st class in Art History
- 1997-2000: elected Student Representative for three consecutive years whilst undergraduate at LJMU: acting as spokesperson for fellow students and liaising between students and staff.
- Artranspennine ’98: Information Guide at the Text Garden installation, Calderstones Park, Liverpool. Organising work rota for fellow students, liaising with The Tate, Liverpool. Delivering presentations and dealing with visitors’ enquiries.
- Team Leader of student volunteers during Liverpool based ISEA conference (International Symposium of Electronic Arts) and also during Liverpool Biennial.
- Voluntary helper during LJMU Open Day: representing the Art History course.
- Coordinating an Art exhibition and related workshops at St. Hilda’s School, Liverpool.
- Organising and securing funding for an exhibition of contemporary paintings at Static Gallery, Roscoe Lane, Liverpool. Responsible for related text and press releases.
- 1982-1997: professional bassist touring extensively in the U.K., Europe, the Middle East and the Far East. T.V., theatre and radio experience.
- 1976-1981: semi-professional bassist and guitarist on rock and alternative circuits. Based in Southport, Liverpool and London.
